Every now and again I am stuck with a thought, usually after a life event. I experience nothing but life events but rather than being transparent this time I'll defer to the arts to make my point. I recently watched the movie Bridesmaids and a scene depicts maid of honor plagued by Murphy's Law Annie played by Kristen Wiig feeling sorry for herself rants about her crumby life to Megan played by Melissa McCarthy when Megan forces Annie into a come to jesus conversation about making the choice to pull up the proverbial bootstraps to make changes in her own life. It caused me to think about a recent quote that stuck with me by Wayne Dyer when he said that "Friends are God's way of apologizing for our family." It made me chuckle. But then I thought about this...
Query:
If friends are God's way of apologizing for our family - and thank God for our friends - then what is God's way of apologizing for our friends?
Answer:
New friends...
Interjection:
With six billion people [and counting] on the planet keep it moving.
Loved the movie...I agree w/ you. Sometimes, God places people in your life for a season, as well as, a lufetime. But, for those here for a short period, count it all joy, because maybe, just maybe, God has something/someone greater for you, still.
ReplyDeleteWe have to remember, that "friends" you may have had for that particular season in your life may not be the ones you need for your next journey or season...count it all joy, for those same people may actually hinder you from your next blessing and/or growth.
