  1. Experiment with this mental model: It is my duty and privilege to be of service. I will do whatever I can to make life easier for all people who cross my path. --Srikumar Rao

So after three months of studying and several headaches, cocktails, and missed blog posts and comments later, I passed my state exam!

After not being in any type of class for more than 20 years, I found it challenging at times but my 'sticktoittiveness' paid off.  Yesterfay, my instructor, Marcello, trekked downtown to the exam site to encourage me, and waited around with me to get my score.  Incidentally he has a 100% success rate of students passing the exam on the first round [you get several rounds in a year to pass].  That was not my story however because I just met Marcello two weeks ago. Before his class, I took an Internet class and engaged in independent home study.  I did not pass the first time, although I knew the material. So the on line school reimburses you part of your fees if you fail.  I'm anticipating a check any day now.

The racket is that the Internet class does not work, so you tend sock more cash into Internet cram courses, etc. before you even realize that.  The cram courses were utterly uselesss as well.  So what you must do is seek out an instructor to teach you the material and teach you how to pass the state exam. As I've discovered these exams are set up for you to fail unless you know how to correctly answer the questions.  It's truly a process.  Regardless, I'm a winner!!  After we were told that I passed, my instructor took pictures of me at the testing site - very cute of him.

Not only that, he asked me to accompany him back to the school to address the new class and to share my experience.  Encouragement comes from the oddest places.

Now that I am daring to try an alternative career, I'll be in training to do this job to the highest standard, which means that I'll be out of the blogshpere a little while longer.  But in the mean time in between time I'll be visiting and commenting on your blogs periodically as well as being social with my friends and loved ones in order to maintain the balance in my life.  My dear friend and health coach, Dr. Daoud, took me out to celebrate my hard work at a fantastic vegan/raw food restaurant called Sun Power Cafe'.  Click on the restaurant name to see photos of the food and restaurant interior.  They have the most yummy raw pizza I've ever had.  That may sound gross to you but it's truly delectable.  Flavorful, pretty and good for you due to the live enzymes in the uncooked products.  Uncooked does not mean cold.  [woo, woo alert] It means higher nutrition/higher vibrations.  All you have to do is erase the pizza experience you've had so far and dare to imagine a better/different experience.  Now, to me, raw means tasty and nutritious.  Click HERE to check out their menu. Please share any raw food experiences you'd had, I'd love to hear about them.

It can't all be about work now can it?

Thank you for your encouraging emails, comments and concerns.  I do miss all of my blog friends but I'll never be too far away.  My life is shifting and all I'm doing is navigating the adjustment.

Big ((hug)) to you all!
