Today, I am filled with gratitude but not with my own words. So as I document my current life in this photo essay I've used the words of others to present my story. Enjoy, and I promise to eventually keep you posted in my own words as things develop.
1. In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary. --Aaron Rose

3. Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. --Vincent Van Gogh
4. I don't see the human as hopeless. There's a general tendency to presume people just act for short-term profit. But anyone who knows about small-town businesses and how people in a community relate to one another realizes that many of those decisions are not just for profit and that humans do try to organize and solve problems. --Elinor Ostrom
5. If we all do one random act of kindness daily, we just might set the world in the right direction. --Martin Kornfeld
6. Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. --Martin Luther King, Jr
7. Think about the role competition plays in your life. Find ways to replace that competition with cooperation in a way that you and your peers can both thrive. - Author unknown.
8. Your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on earth to do. --Virgil
9. Consider a situation you're struggling with, and come with new questions to ask that challenge the status-quo.- Author unknown.
10. The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn. --Ralph Waldo Emerson
11. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. --Leo Buscaglia
12. Oneness is very simple: everything is included and allowed to live according to its true nature. --Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
13. Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. --Lao Tzu
14. Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. --John Muir
15. If nothing else, my life has taught me one thing: The mind and body that I have are the only mind and body that I have. They deserve my attention. And when I give it, I receive so much more in return. --Matthew Sanford
16. If we can really understand the problem, the answer will come out of it, because the answer is not separate from the problem. --J. Krishnamurti
17. Consider your own life and where you might've fallen into the 'efficiency trap;' take a step towards 'slow' and 'small.'- Author unknown.

19. The day will come when, after harnessing space, the winds, the tides and gravitation, we shall harness the energies of love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, we shall have discovered fire. --Pierre Tielhard de Chardin
20. Learn more about Roots of Peace and how one penny can can go a long way.- Author unknown.
21. To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. --Joseph Chilton Pierce
A picture is worth 1000 words, right? Like a good Hollywood movie, draw your own conclusion until further notice. BTW, the quotes that resonate most with me today [and there are several] are #2, 3, 7, 13, 16, 19 and 21. Have a fantastic Sunday!

#8 is a killer - still trying to determine what I was put on earth to do (fairly sure it isn't blogging ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are 15,18.19 and 21. Number 8 strikes me as a case of semantics.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do like 1 and 2.
Bet I made you reread some of your post, didn't I?
I LOVE it when that happens!
